Thanks to the increased cross section in the crank housing you do not have to have your engine casings welded at the area of the clutch to achieve the desired cross section. Anyway you do have the needed cross section to give even high revving cylinder kits with expansion chambers a good charge. With the lip type crankshaft you just have to mill the inlet tract on your engine casings.
The lip type crankshaft is the most powerful option for reed valve engines. A earlier start of the expansion chamber and higher revs make this crank the best choice for a ridable engine with a high power output!
