Advantages of a LML engine case:
· reed valve intake
· wide transfer ports
The valve, which is positioned horizontally under the SI carburettor, enables a higher torque throughout a wide RPM range. At low revs it offers the good response characteristics of a standard engine as well as the performance of a modified rotary valve at medium and higher rev rate. The wide transfer ports are perfect for bigger cylinders with 177cc.
The intake of the engine case allows the gas to flow fast between the crank webs and, therefore, you can also use full circle crankshaft. This kind of crankshaft allows a high primary compression ensuring therefore a higher performance throughout the whole RPM range. We also recommend to replace the steel GRP-petals with the ones in carbon fibre, since this will increase the engine power and avoid a flat spot at 3,500 rpm.
Due to the big opening for the reed valve, the oil pump shaft of the LML engines is made up of two parts. The oil pump shaft for the autolube is not included in this item and shall be ordered additionally.
The Italian carburettor casing for the autolube can be used without any problems.
For the shock absorber mount you can use a M9 bolt.
In the download section you'll find a chart showing the power of an engine mounted without further tuning:
cylinder BGM177, carburettor SI24, crankshaft full circle 60mm, exhaust BGM BigBox Touring, ignition: Standard 19° BTDC
If you use a different reed valve intake you can also mount a bigger carburettor. The bigger reed valve enables a higher performance, but in this case you'll have a manual lubrication and a louder engine.
