CONVERSION TUBE VESPA SMALLFRAME FOR Vespa Sprint, Rally, GT, GTR, TS, GL150

Converting a Vespa Largeframe, which was built before the PX models (before 1977), is very popular.
The handling can be greatly improved with relatively little effort.
This has two major advantages:

  • No extreme diving of the front when braking

  • Disc brakes can be fitted

The conversion steering tube combines the upper section of the Vespa Largeframe models with the lower section of the PK XL2 models.
The dimensions of the steering tube are adapted for use in the older largeframe models.

  • The bearing seat for the lower steering bearing is 10 mm lower than on the original PK fork. This means that our steering tube has the right distance between the horn cover and the mudguard

  • The steerer tube has a suitable handlebar mount at the top with conventional clamping as on Rally, Sprint, GT etc.

  • The steering tube height in the shock absorber area is identical to that of the standard fork. This means that all shock absorbers that also fit the PK XL2 models can be used

With our steering tube, the chassis can be raised to a modern standard while retaining a very close-to-production look. Due to the significantly different design of the shock absorber mount on the PK models, we recommend a conversion mudguard made of GRP/carbon (reworking the original V50/PV mudguard is only possible with a great deal of effort).
The groove for holding the steering head bolt (clamping bolt) and that for the steering lock are not yet set and should be individually marked and worked into the vehicle with the fork mounted in the frame. Both can be easily realized with standard tools (drill, file).
