Description
Bore 70 mm, stroke 58 mm, Nikasil coated aluminium cylinder: Exhaust 185°, overflow 130°, intake diaphragm controlled, exhaust port 27,5°.
The TS1 is the legend among Lambretta tuning cylinders, developed by Terry Shepperd, manufactured in the Italian foundry GILARDONI.
The TS1 has some constructional advantages, for example the heat dissipation of the used aluminium is much better than that of cast iron cylinders.
Due to the used diaphragm control a high peak performance can be reached with the TS1 without the known disadvantages of the slot control. This tends to blow a lot of the just sucked in air/petrol mixture out of the carburettor at the long intake control angle necessary for high rpm and therefore of course works very uneconomically.
This way the TS1 can push out of the speed cellar without lacking peak power compared to the original slotted controlled engine.
