Malossi cylinder with 218cm³ for all water-cooled 125cm³ Piaggio Leader engines.

With a bore of 75,5mm this cylinder kit increases the displacement of a 125'er by over 74%. The resulting high torque makes the engine very sovereign and lively.
Even at low 4000rpm it doubles the engine power compared to the original cylinder. The engine has to turn much less in order to move forward quickly.
The engine with the malossi cylinder reaches its top performance already at 8000 rpm and thus much earlier than a series 125 with 9250 rpm. Nevertheless, the Malossi cylinder turns out just as much and thus offers a perfect symbiosis of both worlds: Torque when you need it and speed when you want it. An engine equipped with the Malossi 218 achieves 18hp and 16,7Nm (series 12hp and 10Nm) according to Malossi power measurement. A converted engine is in no way inferior to its series role model in terms of durability.

If you want to convert the increased engine power into more top speed and save fuel due to the lower rpm level, you should use a longer transmission. The installation however requires a workshop press with at least 8 tons working pressure because the pinions are pressed over.

TIP: If you want even more, you can further increase the performance of your engine with the Malossi camshaft and the Malossi CDI. According to Malossi the performance increases by 1,5hp/1Nm to 19,5hp and 17,5Nm compared to the 218cc cylinder alone.

If you want to increase the power of your 125's to above the power of a 300's you can also use the V4 cylinder head from Malossi. With it the performance culminates in a powerful 22,3PS and 18,2Nm. The V4 head can be combined with the 218cm³ cylinder without further modifications.
