The good old Polini 207 is well known for the torquey characteristics. Because of the cast iron it was well known for seizing.
Thanks to the Polini 210 cc alloy barrel kit this is an issue of the past. The new Polini 210 cc is a Nikasil plated alloy barrel.
The port layout is the same as on the old cast iron one here. The port heights are slightly different. Out of the box the alloy barrel gives 123° transfer timing to 171° exhaust port timing. The blow down timing of 24° gives a nice and broad power band and should result in a nice fuel saver engine.
Out of the box the Polini 210 is perfectly suited for a 57 mm crankshaft. The dyno sheet here shows the Polini simply bolted to a P200 engine. There was nothing changed apart for the jetting of the SI24 carb and a new BGM BigBox exhaust. This resulted In a nice power curve of 15 hp and 20 Nm torque at the rear wheel.
With further tuning and improvements the power will further increase. Good choice is the 57 mm bgm racing crankshaft, larger carbs, expansion chamber and matching of the ports in the engine casings.
Upshot:Very good kit. Plug & play power without the need to go crazy for port timings and all these things. Bolt it to a sound engine, check ignition and carb setting and there you go.
