We have two different conversion kits for the original 8 inch Vespa in our program to equip it with a more modern Sprint, Rally or PX engine. These engines have in the original a 10 inch rim with corresponding brake drum and brake pads. Without conversion the Vespa with such an engine would have been higher at the rear which, apart from the optics, is rather inadequate driving dynamics.

The two sets differ by the used brake drum and rim both in the optics and in the brake performance. The set described here uses the technology of the older brake generation with a separated brake drum and brake hub.

So the optics of the original vehicle remains with this conversion, unfortunately however uahc the brake achievement is reduced in relation to the original donor engine. The small sheet metal brake drum gets hot very fast and gets only very little cooling air due to the closed rim type.
