The GT Intercontinetal casing is 100% designed and constructed in the UK using the sand casting method.
What is interesting about this casing is its adaptability. It has been designed so that it can be machined to act as a replacement for the standard crankcase and accept all the original Lambretta components, or it can be used as the basis for building two large capacity conversions.

It includes the following features:

  • Reverse compatible to standard 200 casings and all internals including crank
  • Original look with finning and jack points
  • Utilises original mag flange
  • Utilises original side case
  • Crank on original centre line to utilise all current exhaust systems
  • Utilises any currently available ignition system
  • Thicker sections for strength and increased gasket face area
  • Properly positioned rear brake shoe pins
  • Pads for case mounted reed and boosts
  • Large gasket area for big capacity cylinders
  • Large crankcase housing can be bored to accomodate CR250 72mm stroke crank
  • Big-capacity, low-cost, water cooled 300cc cylinder conversion planned
  • Big capacity iron lined Inter-Continental air-cooled cylinder 330cc
  • 100% Made in England

The water-cooled option uses a cylinder from a common watercraft engine which should in theory offer a very torquey motor at a relatively low cost, although water-cooling a Lambretta is not a simple job to achieve tidily and will require additional pumps and plumbing. This conversion uses a 64-stroke Lambretta crank based on oversized crank webs.

The other option, using a 72mm-stroke motocross crankshaft is a large-finned air-cooled, iron-lined touring kit designed to be run with cowlings. It includes some very clever features to deal with issues like exhaust clearance. This kit will be 330cc and will also carry the Intercontinental name.
