The SPIEGLER flexible steel lines use an extremely age-resistant PTFE (Teflon®) inner core compared to conventional brake lines. As mechanical protection and to improve the pressure point, it is surrounded by a braided stainless steel mesh.
The brake pressure cannot be reached anywhere other than the brake calliper with such a line. The pressure point is clearly defined, the feedback on the brake lever is absolutely direct. In addition to being insusceptible to weather influences, this is the main reason why racing cars have been using such cables for a long time. The braking feel is much better and makes the driver safer.
Vehicles from the Piaggio Group sometimes also use cables that are already covered with steel mesh, but the actual cable is not made of PTFE.
Therefore the original lines are not comparable with the SPIEGLER steel flex lines offered here either in terms of pressure point or ageing resistance.
We offer the lines with an additional coating of UV-resistant PVC. This allows the high-quality brake line to be additionally matched to the vehicle colour or as a contrast to it.
We offer brake lines both for vehicles with standard brake components and for retrofitted vehicles with Brembo/Frando brake calipers. Furthermore, there are different cable versions for vehicles with or without ABS.

The cables are supplied ready for installation, incl. new sealing rings, cable protection rubbers and, if necessary, retaining plate.
The brake system can be replaced on your own, but if you do not have sufficient experience, it should be filled and vented by a workshop with the appropriate equipment.
Brake fluid can attack the paint/plastic parts
Please dispose of old brake fluid properly (local collection points)
A DOT4 or DOT5.1 can be used
The DOT5.1 (not 5.0!) can also be mixed with DOT4. DOT5.1 is characterized by a better viscosity at low temperatures, making it very suitable for vehicles with ABS.
