With this well tuned kit you can breathe more life and sovereignty into your original rather sluggish motorized Vespa, and thus participate more actively in traffic. The Polini cylinder in classic cast iron technology is solid and robust. The design of its timing is more torque orientated, so that you have a lot of power from underneath, which takes the horror out of recovering and driving with two people. But this also means that it needs a longer gear ratio and the engine has to be opened. Normally this is a sensible undertaking anyway, as many engines have been treated rather neglected and some of them have more than 20000km on the speedometer without the engine ever being revised. If the engine is already open, the performance increasing racing crankshaft from BGM is used directly over the whole speed range. The larger Dell'Orto carburettor with 19mm not only provides more power, but also a better internal cooling, which helps the thermal stability. Simply start with the biggest HD and slowly jet down until the scooter runs perfectly and the spark plug pattern is right. Ignition should be flashed and controlled at 17°v.o.t.

The package is rounded off with the Sito Banana Exhaust, which offers better flow than the original, but is quiet and unobtrusive. With a clean installation and a good adjustment there are about 5-6kw at the rear wheel, at moderate 6500rpm. This power is easily enough to drive more than 80km/h.

Optically and acoustically the whole conversion is very discreet and hardly noticeable. The registration in the vehicle documents must be discussed individually with the local TÜV.

The basic engine should be in a healthy condition and not have a too high mileage. Otherwise it is recommended to overhaul the fuselage engine before tuning. Parts, shaft seals, bearings, engine seals etc. can be found in our online shop.

Further tuning stages are possible with resonance exhaust systems and an enlargement of the rotary vane inlet area in the engine housing.
A new tuning of the engine is then of course mandatory.
