The PX vehicles from 1982-1984 have therefore a battery in Germany which supplies the horn, the indicators and the brake light. With the introduction of the PX Lusso models in 1984 the battery was abandoned (except for the Elestart models) and a horn rectifier was used instead. This rectifier converts the alternating current on board into a direct current, which is absolutely necessary for the horn. Buffer capacitors are integrated which can buffer the high necessary current.

The horn rectifier is no longer available from Piaggio.
