The bgm PRO Superstrong is the Plug n Play clutch solution for small frames - Made in Germany.

The BGM Superstrong clutch is delivered ready to install and is ideally suited to bring the power of strong engine setups to the road. The concept consists of the demand to offer a high quality clutch at a fair price.

A big advantage is the use of standard components.

The lining type is identical to that of the V50/PK XL, the clutch springs come from the Cosak clutch. The pole wheel puller with 28x1mm of the electronic Vespa ignitions (e.g. PK and PX) is used as puller. So you don't need any special parts in case of an overhaul.

The mounted springs are designed for a performance range up to approx. 22PS/20Nm. It is still very easy to operate.

With optional harder springs, the clutch is also suitable for significantly higher performance.

The BGM Superstrong has no keyway for the feather key in the auxiliary shaft. This increases the wing area on the cone considerably if a corresponding auxiliary shaft is used. Technically, the half moon is not required, the complete torque is transmitted via the frictional connection by means of a cone. As soon as this frictional connection is too low, the half moon would shear off immediately, i.e. it is not suitable for transmitting sufficient torque.

Mounting aid

With our BGM Multitool BGM8819, the clutch can be pre-tensioned to facilitate installation in the motor.

For PK XL1 and XL2 clutch covers

For an optimum balance between lever force and lever travel, we recommend the use of a PK XL or PK XL2 clutch cover. These have a longer release lever and are therefore much easier to operate than the V50 clutch covers with a short lever.

Versions

We offer the clutch in 2 x 3 variants:

- For series shafts

  • Without pressure plate - Own pressure plate is available
  • With PK XL pressure plate - Simple version with plain bearing
  • With PK XL2 pressure plate - With high-quality pressure plate bearing

- For DRT Racing shafts

  • Without pressure plate - Own pressure plate is available
  • With PK XL pressure plate - Simple version with plain bearing
  • With PK XL2 pressure plate - With high-quality pressure plate bearing

Note: In some cases the existing tolerances of the bearing seats, auxiliary shaft length, motor housing etc. add up so that the clutch cover must be underlaid with a 1 mm spacer. In addition, a second paper seal for the spacer is required (seal spacer seal).

If the brake anchor plate hits the clutch cover through the spacer, it can also be underlaid. For this we offer our complete 1mm Spacerkit (see accessories).
