Description

Pinasco launches the Magny Cours (also wrongly called Granturismo), an enhanced version of the well-known 177'ers standard. The cylinder layout has remained the same in terms of the channels

eye-light feature is the now finally reasonable piston with narrow rings as well as the cylinder head with central combustion chamber and candle.

The Magny Cours is now available in a version for 57mm stroke (177ccm) and 60mm long-stroke shaft (187=190ccm). The cylinder itself is the same, the long stroke version is equipped with a 1.5mm thick foot seal spacer for stroke compensation (otherwise no other foot seal).

To ensure that the control angles, which are so important for power delivery, work properly, these have been modified compared to the old version. The Magny Cours has the following steering angles:

stroke

overcurrent

outlet

Prelease/p>

57mm

114°

168°

27°

60mm (foot spacer)

127,5°

176,5°

24,5°

SCK TIPP
From our point of view (for a powerful touring motor) even the 60mm 190ccm version would have a better stroke compensation at the head. This would make the steering angles much more suitable for the cylinder concept:

stroke

overcurrent

outlet

Preliminary outlet

60mm (head spacer)

120°

170°

25°

Unfortunately the compensation on the head is difficult to implement, because Pinasco centers the head on the upper sealing surface through a recess. With spacer the centering would be lost and the necessary spacer would have to consist of only one very thin ring. Hence Pinasco's decision in favour of a foot spacer. A flat turn of the upper sealing surface and the use of a conventional head spacer with 1.5mm would make the steering angle better suited to the cylinder and a box exhaust.

Qualitativ there is nothing wrong with the kit, even though it is now made in Asia. Only the centrally arranged spark plug can cause space problems with the side cover and the spark plug connector. Here we recommend to check the clearance (with the shock absorber loosened on the engine) before the first test drive to prevent damage to the side hood.
