Description


The Polini is the classic racing cylinder for the PX and Sprint 3-port engines.
A very early high torque makes it an all-round cylinder for almost all applications. It is perfectly suited for the so-called "plug-in tuning", i.e. simply changing the cylinder without modifying the rest of the engine.

After the conversion, everyone is amazed how powerful such a Vespa engine can be. The beary torque makes every steep mountain a plain.
The only disadvantage is the Polini's not very great over-rev potential. At just about 7000 rpm the engine simply doesn't rev any further. A longer transmission by means of a different clutch sprocket is definitely recommended here. Then the Polini loosely exceeds the 100km/h mark and the gears can be pulled much longer.

If you drive in town only, you can drive the 24/24SI carburettor of the 200cc models. The carburettor should be driven with a 160 main jet and a BE3 atomizer. If the engine still tends to run weak in the upper speed range, a 140-150 main jet should be fitted. If you want to go on a long tour with the Polini, you should fit a 28-30 mm carburettor for thermal relief. The 177 harmonises well with exhaust systems that give off their power quite early, such as the BGM BigBox.

In conjunction with a bgm long-stroke crankshaft, the power is again significantly increased over the entire speed range. The result is a hefty 187 ccm, which provides plenty of power. If you are still not satisfied with this, you can increase the exhaust port duration. The exhaust port of the 177 Polini has lots of potential for further tuning. The result is a power output that easily exceeds 15 kW, depending on the exhaust system. If the exhaust port has been widened and/or the power output has increased, the original piston rings should be replaced for Grand Sport rings or even batter a complete Grand Sport piston. These are considerably less susceptible to breakage and can withstand the increased loads well. If you want more power and don't want to mess around, you should consider the BGM 177 kit from the beginning.

TIPP: Always mount piston rings carefully. Piston rings made of cast material are only partially elastic and break relatively quickly.
Some pistons have trapezoidal profiled piston rings (so-called keystone rings), which only fit in one mounting position. If the ring is not free to move, please loosen it carefully and reinstall it turned 'upside down'.

Très bien, mais dommage il faut meuler le bas du cylindre si il y a un démarreur!!

Wird genau wie auf dem Bild geliefert stabil im Original Polini Styropor Case leider ohne Zündkerze aber Kolbenringe schon montiert
