Description

Complete revision set for the fork swingarm of the Vespa Wideframe models (from approx. 1952) as well as the Largeframe models with 8 inch tires (until approx. 1966). Therefore suitable for e.g. Vespa Wideframe VM, VN, VL, VB, GS150 / GS3, Largeframe VNA1T-VNA2T, VNB1T-VNB5T (-026920), VBA1T, VBB1T, VBB2T (-212455), GL15 (VLA1T -067469)

The set contains all parts needed for a complete overhaul, except brake pads and lubricants (see accessories).

TECHNICAL UPGRADE

Compared to the factory design, the set contains a double-encapsulated ball bearing on the wheel side. This is provided with a lifetime grease filling.

The use of an encapsulated bearing has several advantages:

The shaft sealing ring is omitted -> less friction
No grease can get into the brake (if the shaft seal is defective)
The bearing cannot run dry

On the swing arm side we use a ball bearing with slightly increased lateral clearance (C3). This allows the front wheel axle to run smoothly without play. The bearing clearance allows a tension-free assembly of the axle. If, like the original, a bearing without clearance is used, the axle will always jam slightly and increase the rolling resistance as well as the load on the bearing considerably.
