The BGM PRO ignition set of high quality components for a double conversion of the Vespa to a maintenance-free, light and reliable ignition / alternator unit and a reinforced crankshaft of the Vespa PK XL models.

This kit is for the Vespa smallframe models with small alternator cone. This includes all V50, 50N, SS50, SR50, SS90, V90, 90 Racer, V100, PV, ET3, PK S models. These still have a small (Ø19mm) cone which is not heavy duty. With this kit you can convert to electronic ignition as well as to the more stable crankshaft of the PK XL models!

Alternator and voltage regulator
The BGM PRO set uses a modern electrical system with voltage regulator. The alternator has a modified coil wiring and produces a high voltage already at low revs. As a result, a bright stable light is already present at idle. At high speeds, the voltage regulator automatically regulates to a stable and gentle 12-13 volts. This also offers the possibility of charging a battery and / or support of a USB charging socket for cell phone, navi, etc..

Ignition
The BGM Pro ignition relies on the millionfold proven CDI technology as used by Piaggio from the 1980's. The ignition pulse is generated by contact. Conversion
This set is ideal as a replacement, for example, to renew a defective ignition of a PK XL/ETS model or to have a complete new and high quality base at hand when rebuilding the engine. Further, the set is also very interesting for the conversion of previous models such as V50, PV, ET3, etc.. These still have a weakly dimensioned crankshaft with a small cone. The Vespa PK models got with the introduction of the sporty ETS models and the following XL models a stronger dimensioned crankshaft donated. This has a larger alternator cone, recognizable by the M12 thread of the pole wheel nut as well as the oil seal with 20x32x7mm (PK XL) or 24x35x7mm (PK ETS). The stronger dimensioned stub is useful for tuning with 125cc and more on the V50/PV/ET3 models (the stub can no longer tear off). To install a crankshaft of the PK models in the older V50/PV/ET3 models the pole wheel of the PK models is also needed. This set offers the basis to raise an old engine both mechanically and electronically to a contemporary level. If you also need a voltage regulator and holder for the CDI, you should take a look at the BGM666PV20 set.
