The BGM PRO flywheel is a perfect replica of the original PX200 Elestart flywheel. With its large curved fins, it provides excellent cooling performance – ideal for high thermal load cast iron cylinders such as the Polini 210.

Weighing in at 2.1 kg, the BGM PRO Touring flywheel is 200 grams lighter than the original Piaggio counterpart. This makes it noticeably more agile during acceleration while the engine retains a smooth and elastic power delivery.

It can be used 1:1 as a direct replacement for the original Piaggio PX200 Elestart flywheel.

WEIGHT
At 2100 grams, the BGM8225RTE (T for Touring, E for Elestart) is 200 grams lighter than the original PX Elestart flywheel. It offers the ideal combination of sufficient flywheel mass for strong takeoff torque and reduced weight for more responsive engine revs and improved acceleration. Compared to the much heavier flywheels of older PX models (without Elestart), it reduces flywheel mass by 17–28%. The starter ring gear can also be removed (by heating), reducing the total weight to 1900 grams.

PERFORMANCE / COOLING
The cooling fins are curved and offer the largest surface area of any PX flywheel. Piaggio first introduced this fin profile on the legendary SS180 engines. As a result, high cooling output is guaranteed even at low revs. This high cooling performance is ideal for engines with high thermal loads, such as a Polini 207 cast iron cylinder with SI24 carburetor used at sustained full throttle on highways or in sidecar operation under heavy load.

ELESTART
The flywheel features a ring gear for the electric starter. It is therefore fully compatible with all electric start models.

RECOMMENDATION
We recommend the BGM8225RTE for all engines under high thermal load or as a perfect replacement for the original Piaggio flywheel. The lower the base power of the engine (e.g. PX80/PX125), the more advisable it is to retain a heavier flywheel. Very light flywheels (under 1600 grams) usually offer no advantages in these cases.
