Shift Supervisor (m/f/d) – Order Fulfillment & Shipping

Full-time Bergheim-Glessen Starting January 1, 2027

Who We Are

For over 30 years, Scooter Center has been the go-to destination for scooter enthusiasts. We are one of the largest suppliers of spare parts for Vespa and Lambretta—with more than 50,000 parts in stock at all times. As part of the MMG Group, we sell through our online store, our retail location in Bergheim-Glessen, online marketplaces, and to dealers worldwide.

Every day, our shipments go out from Bergheim-Glessen to destinations all over the world. Whether they arrive on time, complete, and undamaged depends on our order fulfillment and shipping processes—and that’s why we’re looking for you: as a full-time shift supervisor (m/f/d).

Your Responsibilities

You’ll lead your shift in the picking and shipping departments and report to the Logistics Manager. You’ll ensure that your shift’s orders are shipped on time, in full, and securely packaged—and you’ll roll up your sleeves and pitch in yourself.

Staff Management in Day-to-Day Operations

  • You assign tasks to your team members and coordinate their work throughout the shift
  • You identify bottlenecks early on and independently reassign your staff
  • You’ll onboard new employees and train them on the job
  • You assist with day-to-day operations, especially when things get busy

Order Picking

  • You manage order picking using lists and handheld devices, keeping an eye on progress and quality
  • You resolve shortages and discrepancies directly during the process

Packing and Shipping

  • You ensure our packaging standards are met—with a focus on transport safety
  • You ensure compliance with our shipping carriers’ size and weight limits
  • You ensure shipping deadlines are met and manage order processing according to pickup times

What You Bring to the Table

  • Training in logistics is a plus, but not required—what’s more important is that you understand logistics workflows and processes
  • Experience in order picking, using checklists and handheld data terminals (MDE)
  • Knowledge of packaging: packaging standards, transport safety, and the requirements of shipping carriers
  • Experience in managing staff in day-to-day operations: scheduling, coordination, and reassignment during bottlenecks
  • Leadership experience and a sense of responsibility
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Excel) as well as with inventory management and warehouse management systems
  • Solution-oriented thinking: You identify where things are going wrong and fix them
  • A motivating, communicative approach when working with your team
  • Physical stamina
  • A valid forklift license, including practical driving experience

What we offer

  • A team with extensive expertise and a passion for the product
  • Location in Bergheim-Glessen, easily accessible from the Cologne area
  • 30 days of vacation
  • Employee discount
  • Time tracking with time off in lieu during the off-season
  • Thorough onboarding
  • Free drinks and a staff kitchen
  • Break room with foosball, dartboard, and sun deck

How to Apply

Send your application to bewerbung@scooter-center.com. We don’t need a long cover letter—just your resume and an example of your work in the warehouse that you’re proud of will suffice. Feel free to include your salary expectations and your earliest start date.

Junior Web Developer (m/f/d) – Online Store, Inventory Management & IT

Full-time Bergheim-Glessen Starting January 1, 2027

Who We Are

For over 30 years, Scooter Center has been the go-to destination for scooter enthusiasts. We are one of the largest suppliers of spare parts for Vespa and Lambretta—with more than 50,000 parts in stock at all times. As part of the MMG Group, we sell through our online store, our retail location in Bergheim-Glessen, online marketplaces, and to dealers worldwide.

Our business runs on our own IT infrastructure: we build and maintain our online store, inventory management system, and network in-house. To support this, we’re looking for a new team member—a full-time Junior Web Developer (m/f/d).

Your Responsibilities

You’ll work on everything digital at our company: the online store, inventory management, databases, and the network. From the very beginning, you’ll be assigned your own projects—with someone by your side to help you get up to speed.

Online Store Development

  • You’ll continue to develop our online store system: new features, interfaces, performance optimization, and bug fixes

Inventory Management

  • You’ll maintain and develop our inventory management system, including product master data, warehouse and inventory logic, automations, suppliers, and marketplaces

Databases

  • You will design, maintain, and optimize our SQL databases

Web Development

  • You’ll implement front-end and back-end customizations using HTML, CSS, and PHP

Network and IT Infrastructure

  • You will administer our company network, including servers, clients, the firewall, VPN, Wi-Fi, and printers
  • You handle backups and IT security

Process Optimization

  • Together with the line departments, you’ll identify processes that can be digitized or automated

What You Bring to the Table

  • A vocational training program or degree in IT—for example, as an IT specialist in application development or system integration, computer science, or business informatics. We also welcome career changers with their own projects
  • Initial experience with PHP, HTML, and CSS—preferably from vocational training, college, or personal projects
  • Basic knowledge of SQL and an understanding of how data is interconnected
  • Interest in IT infrastructure: servers, networks, backups, and IT security
  • A structured, meticulous approach to work—at our company, the online store, inventory management, and the warehouse are all directly interconnected
  • A desire to familiarize yourself with our systems and communicate with the business departments rather than just working solely on code
  • Very good German; English is sufficient at the documentation level

What We Offer

  • A broad-ranging role: You’ll have an overview of the online store, inventory management, and infrastructure, rather than being limited to just one aspect
  • Short lines of communication: You’ll speak directly with the colleagues for whom you’re developing

We don’t need a long cover letter—your resume and a project you’re proud of are enough. Feel free to include a repository or something you’ve built yourself. Please also let us know your salary expectations and your earliest start date.
