The BGM PRO exhaust for 52 mm stroke is a sport-tuned performance exhaust for Piaggio Maxi 2-stroke engines. Its character isn’t tailored exclusively to a single racing setup, but is intentionally versatile: It works on stock-based 172cc setups as well as on tuned 172/180cc setups, covering an unusually wide range of applications.
The BGM PRO exhaust is particularly interesting for Piaggio, Gilera, and Italjet 2-stroke maxi engines with a 52 mm stroke. This makes it a particularly good fit for sporty 172 and 180 configurations, where the engine is designed not only to deliver low-end torque but also to rev cleanly in the upper rpm range.
The exhaust delivers a greater power boost especially when the rest of the engine setup is optimized for it. It performs best not with components that are completely stock, but with a properly tuned cylinder and carburetor setup.
A typical 172cc sport setup combines this exhaust class with a Malossi 172, 52-mm crankshaft, a suitable diaphragm solution, a larger carburetor, and a tuned variator and transmission setup. This clearly illustrates where the exhaust fits in practice: not as a stock replacement, but as a serious performance system for sporty street and sprint setups.
