Introduction

Aprilia - RS 4 125 Alitalia (2010–2016)

The Aprilia RS 4 125 in the Alitalia livery was a special edition combining the sporty design of the RS series with a race-inspired look. It retained the technical DNA of the RS models, enhanced with exclusive Alitalia-themed graphics. This version was aimed at riders seeking performance, lightness and distinctive design in the 125 cc class.

Model History

From 2010 to 2016, the RS 4 125 was available in various trim levels – including the Alitalia edition, visually inspired by Aprilia’s official WSBK machines. Technically, it was closely related to the standard RS 125, with the focus on styling rather than mechanical upgrades. The Alitalia version was often seen as a tribute to Aprilia’s racing heritage and offered a visually striking appearance.

Technical Details

The RS 4 125 Alitalia uses a liquid-cooled single-cylinder two-stroke engine with approximately 124.8 cc displacement. Maximum output in standard trim is about **11 kW (15 hp)**, depending on the homologation. Fuel is delivered via a carburettor (e.g., Dell’Orto VHST 28), paired with a 6-speed gearbox. A wet multi-plate clutch transmits power to the rear wheel via chain. A three-way catalytic converter ensures emissions compliance.

Chassis and Brakes

The chassis features a stiff cast aluminium frame with sporty geometry. It comes with an upside-down front fork and a progressive mono-shock rear suspension. Braking is handled by a large front disc with radial caliper and a rear disc, providing strong deceleration. Tyres are approximately **110/70‑17 front** and **150/60‑17 rear**, offering grip and stability.

Dimensions and Weight

Seat height is about **805 mm**, allowing a compact sporty posture. Curb weight is typically around **140–145 kg**, offering light handling. The fuel tank holds about **14 litres**, ensuring good range. Dimensions: Length approx. 1,955 mm, width 720 mm, height 1,100 mm. Wheelbase: **1,345 mm**, ideal for agile and stable riding.

Colour Variants / Alitalia Edition Details

The Alitalia edition featured a unique paint job with white, green and red accents, inspired by Aprilia’s race bikes. Additional touches included sponsor logos, racing stripes, and special decals. There were no mechanical differences – all changes were purely cosmetic.
