Lambretta B 125
As the A went quite well, Innocenti quickly decided to bring an improved model onto the market. But not only that, the B was also the first model to be imported to Germany by the Winter company in Hamburg. The B model is something of a natural evolution of the A.
However, the improvements are by no means just cosmetic. The B model also boasts numerous technical improvements. The elastic rear suspension was a huge step forward. Together with the two front springs, this results in a very harmonious riding experience. In addition, the tires, which have been enlarged to 8 inches, provide more stability and the modified seating position ensures greater comfort.
The gears are moved from the footboard to the handlebars. It is shifted via the patented Teleflex cable. The solution with the twist shifter is retained on all Lambrettas. The remaining cables are routed on the outside of the frame, which makes replacing them much easier. The tank is enlarged to reduce the pit stop frequency.
As with the A model, there are also some changes to the B during production. For example, the brakes have been improved on the latest models. The brake pads now sit on the brake blocks and no longer in the brake drum. This makes it much easier to change the brake pads.
Production ended in January 1950 after 35,014 Model B. All Bs were delivered in metallic paint.
