Lambretta D & LD 150

From October 1954, the LD 125 had big brothers in the form of the 150 cc models. The higher power also increased the top speed. Innocenti specifies 88 km/h for the 150 cc models. With the same fuel consumption. The cylinder and fan cover is very similar to the Lusso models. In addition to the airflow cooling system, the Teleflex gearshift cable has also disappeared from the LD 150. The gears are now shifted with two cables. A system that can be found on all later Lambrettas. The LD 150 is also the first model to be supplied in a two-tone paint finish as standard.

For the first time, a damper unit was installed alongside the torsion suspension to increase ride comfort.

In January 1957, heavily revised 125cc and 150cc LD models appeared. The engines remained unchanged apart from the kickstarter mechanism.

In the 57 models, the horn was moved to the steering head cover, where there was also a speedometer. This allowed the cables and harnesses to be routed much more neatly. The rear part of the scooter has been given a very strong lift and a cast rear light has been bolted to the frame. The luggage compartment is located behind the passenger seat. The air is sucked in at the rear via the frame, a system that is very beneficial to the engine's revving performance.
