Introduction
Aprilia - RX 50 (2003–2004, ZD4STA01)
The Aprilia RX 50 with type code ZD4STA01 belongs to the second generation of the popular RX series.
It was completely redesigned for the 2003 model year and featured a modern look with clear off-road ambitions.
As a 50 cc enduro bike for young riders with AM licenses or moped permits, it combined sporty looks with everyday practicality.
Model history
From 2003 onwards, Aprilia introduced a new platform for the RX 50 with a more prominent plastic fairing kit and redesigned headlight.
Compared to the previous generation, the frame geometry was improved and the ergonomics were refined with a narrower tank and new seat.
The air-cooled two-stroke engine was sold limited to 45–50 km/h in most markets, but unrestricted versions were also available.

Front suspension via upside-down telescopic fork.
Rear: monoshock on aluminium swingarm.
Tires: 21" front, 18" rear with knobby tread.
Front brake: 260 mm disc, rear: 180 mm disc.
Colour variants
The RX 50 during this period was usually delivered in sporty colour combinations such as black/red, blue/silver or yellow/black.
Sticker kits and graphics varied by market.
Accessories like hand guards, larger sprockets or performance exhausts were popular tuning options.
