Introduction

Aprilia SR GT 125 (2021–2024, ZD4MD51)

The Aprilia SR GT 125 (ZD4MD51) is a sporty urban adventure scooter produced by the Italian manufacturer Aprilia from 2021 to 2024. It belongs to the SR GT range, which combines the comfort and everyday usability of a scooter with the look and versatility of an adventure bike.
This model is aimed at riders seeking an agile, powerful, and versatile 125cc vehicle that performs well both in city traffic and on country roads. With its modern design and high-quality technical features, the SR GT 125 sets new standards in the compact scooter segment.

Model History

The SR GT range was introduced in 2021 as a new concept within the Aprilia portfolio. It was designed to meet the growing demand for all-round scooters that combine sporty performance with higher comfort and adventure-ready elements.
The SR GT 125 (ZD4MD51) is built on a stable double-cradle frame, offers more ground clearance than traditional city scooters, and is equipped with long-travel suspension. The model proved especially popular in Europe, where 125cc vehicles can be ridden by car licence holders with the appropriate endorsement.
Until production ended in 2024, the model was available in several colour and trim options, including sport-focused versions in the “Sport” edition.

Technical Details

Engine and Performance

The SR GT 125 is powered by a modern, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, four-stroke engine with a displacement of 124.7 cc. This engine is part of Piaggio/Aprilia’s latest i-get (“Italian Green Experience Technology”) generation and meets Euro 5 emissions standards.
It produces around 11 kW (15 hp) at 8,750 rpm, with a maximum torque of approximately 12 Nm at 6,500 rpm.
Power is transmitted via a continuously variable transmission (CVT), ensuring smooth acceleration without gear changes. Depending on load and conditions, the top speed is around 100–105 km/h.

Chassis and Brakes

The chassis features a 33 mm telescopic fork at the front with 122 mm of travel, and twin rear shock absorbers with 102 mm of travel, adjustable for preload.
Braking is handled by a hydraulic 260 mm front disc and a 220 mm rear disc, supported by a dual-channel ABS system for enhanced safety.
With a ready-to-ride weight of approximately 144 kg and a wheelbase of 1,350 mm, the SR GT 125 offers a balanced mix of stability and agility. The 110/80-14 front and 130/70-13 rear tyres provide secure grip, even on rougher road surfaces.

Design and Variants

The design of the SR GT 125 blends sporty Aprilia DNA with adventure-inspired elements such as a high, wide handlebar, a tinted windscreen, and an upright riding position. The front end features the distinctive Aprilia triple-headlight unit with LED technology.
Colour options included classic finishes like “Street Grey” and “Infinity Blue” as well as sportier versions in red, black, or racing graphics in the “Sport” edition.
Thanks to its versatility, high build quality, and sporty performance, the SR GT 125 quickly established itself as one of the most attractive scooters in the 125cc category.
