Introduction
Aprilia - SR Motard 125 (2012–2014, LBMM703)
The Aprilia SR Motard 125 is a sporty, urban-oriented scooter produced by the Italian manufacturer Aprilia between 2012 and 2014. It belongs to the SR Motard range, known for blending Supermotard-inspired design with the everyday practicality of a scooter.
The model was developed to offer riders in the 125 cc class an agile, reliable, and stylish vehicle suitable for both city commuting and short intercity trips. In many countries, the SR Motard 125 can be ridden with an A1 licence or a car licence with the appropriate extension.
Model History
The SR Motard range was introduced in 2012 as an extension of the successful SR series, aimed particularly at younger riders and urban commuters. Its design took inspiration from Supermotard motorcycles, featuring sporty-aggressive lines, a prominent high front mudguard, and sharp, angular styling.
The SR Motard 125 (2012–2014, LBMM703) was the larger-engine variant alongside the 50 cc model, offering more power for riders with a higher licence category.
It was positioned as a cost-effective, easy-to-maintain, yet stylish alternative to models such as the Yamaha Xenter 125 or Honda SH125i.
Technical Details
The Aprilia SR Motard 125 is powered by an air-cooled, single-cylinder, four-stroke engine with a displacement of 124 cc.
The engine produces around 7.1 kW (9.6 hp) at 8,500 rpm and reaches a maximum torque of approximately 8.2 Nm at 7,500 rpm.
Power is transmitted via a continuously variable transmission (CVT), providing smooth and effortless acceleration.
Top speed is around 90–95 km/h, depending on rider weight and conditions.
Chassis and Brakes
The chassis is built from a sturdy steel tube frame, with a hydraulic telescopic fork at the front and a single rear shock absorber.
The braking system consists of a 220 mm front disc brake and a 140 mm rear drum brake, delivering solid braking performance for urban riding.
With an unladen weight of approximately 122 kg and a wheelbase of 1,345 mm, the SR Motard 125 is nimble and easy to handle.
The 14-inch wheels are fitted with 120/70-14 tyres at both the front and rear, ensuring good grip on asphalt.
Colour Variants
The Aprilia SR Motard 125 (2012–2014, LBMM703) was available in several colour options, including “Nero Aprilia” (Black), “Bianco Glam” (White), and “Rosso Ibis” (Red).
