Development of Aprilia

The Aprilia Scarabeo 125 (2006, ZD4TD) is a scooter produced in 2006 by the Italian manufacturer Aprilia. Founded in 1945 by Alberto Beggio as a bicycle manufacturer, Aprilia developed into a significant name in the motorcycle and scooter industry under the leadership of his son Ivano Beggio from the 1960s onwards.
The Scarabeo 125 is part of the Scarabeo model range, introduced in 1993 with the Scarabeo 50, known for its elegant design with large wheels.
While Aprilia was also appreciated for sporty models like the RS series in the 2000s, the Scarabeo 125 was aimed at riders seeking a stylish and practical scooter for everyday use.
Its production year 2006 falls after the acquisition of Aprilia by the Piaggio Group in 2004, allowing the scooter to benefit from the integration of Piaggio technologies.
