Introduction

Aprilia Scarabeo 50 (2000–2006, ZD4TH)

The Aprilia Scarabeo 50 (ZD4TH) is an elegant large-wheeled scooter from the Italian manufacturer Aprilia, produced between 2000 and 2006. As a further development of the first-generation Scarabeo, it combines classic design with modern technology and became one of the most popular 50cc scooters in Europe.
With 16-inch wheels, upright seating position, and distinctive style, the Scarabeo 50 was aimed particularly at style-conscious urban riders and young beginners.

Model History

Following the success of the original Scarabeo 50 (1993–1997), Aprilia launched a thoroughly updated version in 2000 under the internal designation ZD4TH. It featured a more integrated and contemporary design, along with technical enhancements such as an improved chassis, updated electronics, and better ergonomics.
The Scarabeo 50 (ZD4TH) was available with both air- and liquid-cooled Minarelli engines and enjoyed strong sales across Europe. It combined the riding stability of a large scooter with the benefits of the 50cc class: ease of use, low running costs, and AM/A1 license compatibility.

Color Options and Accessories

The Scarabeo 50 (ZD4TH) was available in a wide range of classic and modern colors, including silver, black, blue, bordeaux, and special two-tone editions. Its timeless look made it one of the most distinctive 50cc scooters on the market.
