The Aprilia Scarabeo Light 200 (ZD4RB), produced from 2007 to 2012, expanded the Scarabeo lineup with a more powerful option in the mid-range segment. It combined the classic design and proven large-wheel architecture of the Scarabeo series with a stronger four-stroke engine, offering greater flexibility for both urban and interurban riding.
The Light 200 stood out for its everyday usability, comfort, and confident presence, making it a popular choice among commuters and frequent riders.

Model History

Introduced in 2007, the 200cc version of the Scarabeo Light built on the 125cc platform with increased displacement and optimized engine tuning. It was aimed at riders seeking an agile yet more powerful scooter for daily commuting and occasional longer trips – all with the signature Scarabeo values of design, comfort, and large wheels.
Production continued until 2012, during a period of growing demand for stylish and capable mid-range scooters.

Technical Details

The Aprilia Scarabeo Light 200 (ZD4RB) was powered by an air-cooled single-cylinder four-stroke engine with 181 cc displacement. It produced around 18 hp (13.2 kW) and reached a top speed of approximately 115 km/h. Power was transmitted via a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT).
The scooter featured a telescopic front fork and a rear mono shock absorber. The braking system included a 260 mm front disc and a 220 mm rear disc. The fuel tank held approximately 8.5 liters, and the dry weight was about 137 kg. Average fuel consumption was around 3.5 liters per 100 km.

Color Options and Accessories

The Scarabeo Light 200 was offered in refined and timeless colors such as black, gray, dark blue, white, and special editions in red or silver. Some models featured two-tone seats or chrome design accents.
