Introduction
Aprilia - Mojito 50 Custom (2008–2010, ZD4TF)
The Aprilia Mojito 50 Custom (ZD4TF), produced from 2008 to 2010, represents an updated version of the popular retro scooter series. Compared to the first generation, the design was slightly modernised without losing its classic appeal. The distinctive front fairing, flowing lines and chrome details still define the look.
This model is particularly popular among beginners and style-conscious urban riders who value comfortable handling and Italian flair.
Model history
With the ZD4TF version, the Mojito Custom received minor technical updates, especially regarding the electrical system and emissions regulations. Production complied with updated EU homologation standards and continued until around 2010.
During this period, the retro style became more of a lifestyle statement – the Mojito was marketed as a trendy alternative to sportier 50 cc models.
Technical specifications
The ZD4TF version is equipped with an air-cooled single-cylinder two-stroke engine with 49 cc displacement and approx. 3.1 kW (4.2 hp).
Power is transmitted via a fully automatic CVT gearbox with low-maintenance belt drive.
Both electric and kick starters are standard.
The engine complies with Euro 2 emissions standards of its time and is known for its easy maintenance and reliability.
Chassis and features
The steel tube frame is combined with a traditional telescopic fork at the front and a single rear shock absorber.
Braking is handled by a 190 mm front disc brake and a rear drum brake.
Small 10-inch wheels provide excellent manoeuvrability in urban settings.
The riding position is relaxed, with a low step-through, wide handlebars and a low centre of gravity.
Practical features like under-seat helmet storage and an optional luggage rack make the Mojito well suited for everyday use.
Colour options
The ZD4TF was available in classic colours such as black, cream, grey and blue. Depending on the market, some versions featured special graphics or pinstripes.
Whitewall tyres, two-tone seats and chrome trim emphasised the retro character.
No official special editions are documented, but custom modifications are common.
