The year 1965 then brought the Vespa 50 N with the already familiar frame abbreviation V5A1T. Initially, nothing changed on the vehicle apart from the colors. Some changes were made during production. The wheelbase was extended, the engine cover was made larger and other details were changed. The engine underwent similar changes, with the engine housing being modified from 1966 onwards, particularly the mount for the cylinder base.
To ensure better access to the engine, the flap to the engine was enlarged upwards from July 1965. The jaws were also slightly extended downwards. This modification was retained unchanged until the last model series of the Vespa Smallframe.
The term "Unificata" (translated "uniform") stands for all Vespa Smallframes with a large engine flap and short frame (recognizable by the square cascade emblem), which were produced between 1965 and 1967. From 07/1967, the frame is extended by 2 cm and the emblem on the cascade is now hexagonal. The models with a long frame are also called "Allungata" ("elongated"). As with the first series, the tread strips are made of rubber. The rear light is smaller and made entirely of plastic.
