The Aprilia Scarabeo 125 with type code ZD4TD000 is a classic large-wheel scooter from 2003. As part of the popular Scarabeo range, this model combines elegant design with solid engineering and everyday practicality. The 125 version targets riders with an A1 licence or the B196 extension and offers a comfortable solution for urban and suburban mobility.

Model history

The Scarabeo 125 received an update in the early 2000s, and the ZD4TD000 version of 2003 came with upgraded features. Typical traits include slim bodywork, large 16-inch wheels and an upright seating position. The model update brought ergonomic and technical improvements without losing the classic Scarabeo look. The range was successful across Europe and served as a basis for various license-built and customised versions.

Technical details

Liquid-cooled single-cylinder four-stroke engine with 124 cc displacement. Power: approx. 14 hp (10 kW) at around 9,000 rpm. Torque: approx. 11 Nm at approx. 8,000 rpm. CVT transmission with belt drive, electric starter. CDI ignition, fuel tank capacity approx. 8 litres including reserve. Top speed: ~105 km/h (depending on version).

Chassis and brakes

Steel tube frame with torsion-resistant structure. Telescopic front fork, side-mounted rear monoshock. Large wheels: 16 inches front and rear. Disc brakes with approx. 260 mm front and 220 mm rear, some models equipped with CBS system. Wheels mostly made of cast aluminium.

Colour options

The Scarabeo 125 (ZD4TD000) was offered in classic paint schemes such as silver, black, dark red or champagne. Chrome accents, windscreen and optional luggage rack completed the elegant look. Popular accessories: top case, extended windscreen, comfort seat or heated grips.
