Description:
Piaggio launched the Vespa PK on the market in 1982 as the successor to the V50 and Primavera models. It was built in different variants between 1982 and 1996. The best-known model variants include the PK S, PK XL and PK XL2. The engines are also different.
The PK 50 is the so-called "economy model". The frame shape is already that of the later PK S, but the glove compartment, indicators, brake light and horn have been omitted. Instead of the horn, a bicycle bell was mounted underneath the handlebars. The steering head cover has no recess for the indicators/high beam blinker lights, there is a dummy cover on the switch tube instead of the blinker switch, the switch on the right-hand side only has a horizontal toggle switch for light on/off instead of 2 vertical toggle switches and a round horn button like the "normally" equipped models. The two halves that make up the mudguard overlap in the middle, as on all previous models.
The rear light is similar to that of the PK S, but much smaller. It only has a holder for the rear light bulb and no license plate light. An electronic ignition with 6V electrics was installed.
