The year 1972 brings the Rally Electronic 200 (VSE1T). Visually, the 200 differed from its smaller predecessor mainly due to the rally stripes on the side covers and mudguards. The first models of the 200 had a kill switch above the fuel tap instead of the ignition lock in the handlebar head. The engine housing was modified so that a larger capacity cylinder could be installed. A major innovation was the electronic ignition, which finally put an end to the eternally wearing contacts and capacitor. From 1973 to 1976, the Rally was equipped with Femsatronic. From 1976 onwards, the tried and tested Ducati ignition system was used. The needle bearing (item no. 3720035) in conjunction with the shaft seal 24/35/6, which is still used in PX engines today, was also introduced. With the SI 24/24 carburettor and a new exhaust, the Rally Electronic 200 mobilizes 12 hp at 5,700 rpm. The ignition coils can be easily distinguished by their mounting location, the Femsatronic is on the frame, the Ducati ignition is on the engine.
