The ET2 uses an air-cooled two-stroke engine with variomatic drive, contactless ignition and classic carburettor. The ET4 models rely on air-cooled four-stroke engines with variator, simple valve train and durable engine geometry. Many components were standardized within the ET series, which still facilitates spare parts supply and maintenance today.
