SCHMITT introduces the first series piston from VERTEX, a renowned Italian premium manufacturer, for Simson mopeds and mokicks. This piston has a diameter of 41.96 mm (4th oversize), is suitable for 60 cc cylinder liners and serves as a replacement for the original piston. It is made of an aluminum alloy with a high silicon content and is fitted with two 1 mm thick piston rings with a hard chrome coating. Two axially offset lubrication holes are added for the 12 mm piston pin to strengthen the guide. The piston can be fixed with C-clips or G-clips thanks to a special recess for removing the C-clips. It is balanced, which reduces the tendency to tilt and extends the service life. Rounded piston ring pins protect against breakage at the joints. VERTEX pistons are also used as original equipment by brands such as KTM in the high-end sector and are considered the first choice.
