The Polini gearbox cover allows the conversion of a moped housing with fixed pulley to variomatic. In addition to this cover is needed:
Gearbox for Vario operation (e.g. CIF, Polini or original Piaggio for Vario)
Variomatic (e.g. Polini)
V-belt for vario operation
rear converter unit
engine cover for Vario
The big advantage of the variomatic is the use of the full engine power from the first meter. The transmission ratio is changed continuously and the speed remains constant at the speed selected by the mass of the centrifugal weights. Thus, the acceleration is massively improved compared to the fixed moped transmission. Now both wheelies and a high top speed are possible.
