TIP: Polini carburettors are very sensitive to the adjustment of the mixture screw, just like the original PWK carburettors. If the engine gets stuck at too high a speed after full throttle, the side jet is usually too grease. In order to achieve an acceptable idle speed with the too rich auxiliary jet, the idle speed is usually increased and the mixture screw is turned out too far (= leaner).
This compensation of the rich auxiliary jet via the settings on the carburetor leads to the engine getting stuck at a very high speed, although the gas has already been turned back to zero.
With a smaller side jet the idle speed can be adjusted to a normal level again and the idle mixture can be adjusted (screwed in) via the mixture screw also to a richer mixture.
If necessary the float level should be observed. This is often adjusted inadvertently when dismantling the float chamber. To do this, always remove the float chamber with the carburettor upside down. Otherwise the float can get caught in the inclined overflow pipe.
Recommended float level: 21mm (Turn the carburettor upside down here too: Measured from sealing edge of float chamber to upper edge of float ).
