More displacement, a different exhaust or a consistently developed Malossi setup changes the demands placed on the fuel injection system. This is exactly where the MALOSSI Force Master 2.1 takes control. The electronic add-on control unit has been developed for targeted engine management adjustment and combines four pre-programmed maps with individually adjustable fuel correction, TPS monitoring, RPM display and integrated diagnostics.
For Vespa Sprint IGET, Primavera IGET and Piaggio Liberty IGET models, the Force Master 2.1 becomes the electronic control centre of a performance-oriented engine setup. Instead of being restricted to a fixed calibration, fuel delivery can be adjusted independently across three RPM ranges. This gives the rider or tuner the opportunity to adapt the setup specifically to the components being used.
With the Force Master 2.1, injection correction can be adjusted separately for Low, Mid and High. Low covers the range below 3,000 rpm, Mid covers 3,000 to 6,000 rpm and High covers the range above 6,000 rpm. Within these ranges, the control unit allows a correction of ±14 percent. Adjustments are made using the plus and minus buttons in 2 percent steps.
This makes it possible to modify the calibration precisely where it is required – from the lower RPM range through the midrange and into the upper rev range. Especially on an engine equipped with a Malossi cylinder and a suitably matched exhaust, this provides considerably more tuning possibilities than a fixed standard calibration.
MALOSSI provides four base maps for different engine and exhaust configurations. For 125 models, maps are available for the Malossi cylinder in combination with either the original exhaust or a Malossi exhaust with DB killer. Two additional maps cover corresponding configurations for the 150 models.
One of the defining features of the Force Master 2.1 is its integrated control and display unit. The different functions can be selected and adjusted directly on the module using the display and the three minus, M and plus buttons. In addition to the active map and the Low, Mid and High corrections, the system displays engine speed and throttle position.
The Thr function allows the TPS opening to be monitored from 0 to 100 percent. The control unit also incorporates a diagnostic function. Detected faults are shown on the display, while the Info function provides information about the installed mapping and software version. This turns the additional control unit into a genuine interface between rider, engine setup and fuel injection system.
The Force Master 2.1 operates with an RPM limit of 9,250 rpm. This gives suitably prepared engines additional scope and allows the usable RPM range to be extended beyond the limitation of the standard engine management system.
The electronics are designed for real-world use on the vehicle: the specified operating temperature range extends from -30 °C to +80 °C, while operating voltage ranges from 7 to 16 V. With an IP65 protection rating, the housing is protected against dust and water jets.
The kit includes the wiring harnesses, connectors and connection components required for installation. In addition to the Force Master 2.1 itself, the product images show the wiring for the injection system, TPS, power supply and ground as well as the required connectors.
Installation differs in certain details between Vespa and Piaggio Liberty models. On Vespa models, the installation includes connection to the injector and the TPS signal. For the Piaggio Liberty, MALOSSI specifies additional installation steps involving the injector wiring. The vehicle-specific installation instructions should therefore be followed completely and carefully.
The Force Master 2.1 is a component designed to modify engine management and must be adjusted to suit the engine configuration being used. The maps specified by MALOSSI relate to defined combinations of cylinder, exhaust, cylinder head, camshaft and air filter. Installation and adjustment should therefore be carried out carefully in accordance with the supplied MALOSSI instructions.
Malossi specifies this product exclusively for competition use in areas designated for this purpose. The applicable legal regulations in the respective country of use must be observed.
