The CIF cylinder cover is a suitable spare part for classic Vespa largeframe engines in the 180 and 200 cc class. It neatly covers the cylinder area and ensures that the cooling air conveyed by the fan wheel is directed over the cylinder and cylinder head. With air-cooled Vespa engines in particular, a correctly fitted cylinder cover is not just a visual accessory, but an important part of the engine cooling system.
The cylinder cover sits over the cylinder and cylinder head and is part of the cooling air system. Without a suitable cover, the cooling air is not distributed correctly, which can cause individual areas of the cylinder to become significantly hotter. A damaged, distorted or missing cover should therefore not be used permanently. The CIF version is a practical replacement solution for standard 200 large-frame engines and rally applications.
The cylinder cover is designed for many largeframe models with 180 and 200 cc engines, including Rally, PE, PX and Cosa.
Before fitting, check that the cylinder, head, fan cover and fixing points match the engine type. A brief comparison of the components is particularly worthwhile for engine conversions or mixed large-frame components.
