EGIG 187 cc cylinder kit for Vespa Smallframe with 116 mm connecting rod
The EGIG 187 cc cylinder is the largest capacity version of the cast iron series for Vespa Smallframe. With a 54 mm stroke and large 65 mm piston, the result is an extremely high-torque engine that pulls long gear ratios with ease and, with the right peripherals, enables performance beyond the 30 hp mark.

Characteristics: maximum torque in the smallframe
At 187 cc, this kit offers the largest displacement of the EGIG cast iron series for Vespa Smallframe. The engine pulls powerfully even from low revs and allows the use of long primary ratios. Together with a large carburetor and a powerful exhaust system, the result is a very powerful, yet easily controllable engine for touring and sporty use.
Use with long gear ratios
Thanks to its high torque, the EGIG 187 is particularly suitable for setups with a long primary and speed-reducing transmission. The engine has sufficient reserves even under high continuous load, provided the carburetor and ignition are tuned correctly.
Cast iron and durability
As with the smaller kits, the cast iron material ensures high thermal stability and a certain tolerance to slight tuning errors. However, the following also applies here: A jam can permanently impair the cylinder and is not a free pass for improper tuning.

FAQ EGIG 187
For riders who want to build a very high-torque smallframe engine with high top speed and stable durability and are prepared to adapt the housing for the 54 mm shaft.
The 187 offers even more torque and pulls through long gear ratios even more confidently. Both kits are similar in design, but the 187 is designed more for maximum pulling power.
Large-volume carburetors from around 30 mm are recommended for the 187 in order to exploit the full potential in the upper power range and distribute the thermal load.
