Cylinder head -MALOSSI Ø57.5 mm, 136 ccm MK4 / MHR- Vespa PV125, ET3 125, PK125
High-performance cylinder head for the 136 cc MALOSSI Smallframe cylinders. The head is designed for the current 136 series (MK4 grey cast iron and 136 MHR aluminium) and combines an optimized combustion chamber geometry, generously dimensioned cooling surfaces and a modern O-ring seal. Ideal as a replacement head or as a basis for custom machining on Vespa PV, ET3 and PK engines with 57.5 mm bore.

Construction and material
MALOSSI uses a special die-cast aluminum alloy for the 136cc head. The cooling fins are not only pronounced on the outside, but also on the underside and increase the heat dissipation surface. Production takes place on high-precision CNC machines with diamond-tipped tools. The result is very tight tolerances and a flat, resilient sealing surface for high thermal loads.
Sealing takes place via an embedded Viton O-ring, which sits in a circumferential groove. This eliminates the need for the classic head gasket made of metal or fiber, the system is insensitive to settling and can be reproducibly sealed even after several disassemblies.
Combustion chamber and compression
The combustion chamber has a hemispherical design and works with a centered squish band. The spark plug is positioned centrally, which supports fast and even flame propagation. This increases the knock limit, the torque in the mid-range increases and the separation behavior of the engine remains cleanly controllable.
In combination with the respective cylinders, the following guide values result for the compression ratio (with MALOSSI basic configuration, depending on the squish edge and base gasket):
- approx. 1:11.4 with 136 cc MK4 cast iron cylinder
- approx. 1:12.5 with 136 cc MHR aluminum cylinder
Changes to the base gasket, head gasket or timing can change these values. For sporty setups, we recommend checking and documenting the actual squeeze edge on the assembled engine.
Application range and compatibility
Direct replacement head for MALOSSI 136 cc cylinders (MK4 cast iron and 136 MHR aluminum) with 57.5 mm bore on Vespa PV125, ET3 125 and PK125 engines.
Thanks to the precise machining, the head is also suitable as a starting point for individual adaptations to other 57.5 mm smallframe cylinders, for example for long-stroke or special combustion chamber concepts.
Designed for spark plugs with long thread (M14), for example NGK B9ES or comparable types.

Frequently asked questions
Does the head also fit older MALOSSI 136 cylinders?
The head is designed for the current 136 series (MK4 and MHR). It may fit mechanically on older versions, but in this case the compression and squish edge should be measured and adjusted if necessary.
Is an additional head gasket required?
No. Sealing is provided by the integrated Viton O-ring in the head groove. An additional metal or fiber gasket is not provided and would change the combustion chamber concept.
Which spark plug should be used?
The head is designed for long-thread spark plugs with an M14 thread. For example, an NGK B9ES or a comparable heat value has proven to be suitable for the respective setup and intended use.
Can I convert the head to long-stroke?
Yes, the head is suitable as a basis for long-stroke concepts. The crushing edge, compression and, if necessary, the combustion chamber layout must be adapted. Such work usually belongs in the hands of experienced engine builders.
