Pinasco aluminum tuning cylinder with 225cc displacement for the popular Vespa GS160 and SS180 models.
Based on the proven tuning cylinder for the PX200, Pinasco is the only manufacturer to offer a conversion cylinder for the direct intake engines of the GS/SS models. The channel design of the cylinder is based on that of the original PX200 cylinder, but has been extended by so-called finger ports (additional exposed overflow channels). As a result, the cylinder achieves good power and torque values, which further improve the already easy-to-ride engine. The aluminum ensures good heat dissipation, while the hard metal coating of the cylinder bore ensures high wear resistance and a very long cylinder service life.
Compared to the original cylinder, the cylinder has a diaphragm-controlled, self-regulating intake. It is therefore independent of the former piston control and can therefore run even more efficiently, economically and powerfully.
The cylinder can either be used with the original carburetor or optionally with an SI carburetor as used in the conventional PX series (available up to Ø28mm diameter). Apart from the exhaust, the cylinder can be used without any modifications to the engine. A special piston pin bearing is included for engines with a 16 mm connecting rod eye (GS160 models of the second series and SS180 models). This means that the Ø15mm piston pin can also be used in these crankshafts. The type for the PX200 models can be used as an exhaust. However, this must be slightly modified at the bracket (remove one of two retaining tabs)
