Transmission parts from Stefano Benelli have rightly earned an excellent reputation in the racing scene.
If you are looking for reliable racing technology for your gearbox, this is where you will find it.
Hardened to an average of 60 HRC, Benelli parts provide the perfect balance of hardness and elasticity to withstand the extreme loads of a race engine in the long run.
Benelli is a veteran of the Vespa racing scene. His parts are always based on the real needs that emerge in tough racing conditions. That’s why Benelli solutions always come from practice and have been extensively tested there beforehand. The main shaft he designed is significantly reinforced, yet remains compatible with conventional Vespa gearbox components.
The shaft diameter has been massively increased (Ø30mm) and can withstand even the heaviest torque attacks of modern setups.
In contrast to the Crimaz main shaft, the Benelli still allows the use of large primary gears (> 105 mm, e.g. BGM 62/63T). The Benelli main shaft also features the typical Lusso detent for the selector cross, which is missing on the Crimaz version.
To maximize the transferable torque, the Benelli main shaft is longer in the spline area for the brake drum. Therefore, when installing, check whether the main shaft has sufficient engagement in the brake drum splines. Otherwise, use an additional washer to ensure a secure power transfer via the tightening torque of the central nut.
