The brake master cylinder is manufactured by the highly specialized and ISO-certified tuning company Ottopuntouno (8.1 for short) from Italy.

The set is ideal for converting an existing disc brake to fully hydraulic actuation or for converting a vehicle from drum brakes to disc brakes. The set includes all parts for the handlebars, excluding the brake line.

4-piston radial brake calliper
The piston diameter of Ø11mm is perfectly suited to installing a powerful but easily controllable brake. Massive deceleration values are achieved, especially in conjunction with a 4-piston radial brake caliper, as this results in a very favorable surface ratio of master to slave piston.

2-piston brake caliper
But even with a conventional brake caliper with Ø30mm piston diameter, the braking force is significantly higher than, for example, with a standard brake pump as used by Piaggio/LML ex works on the Vespa PX Disc/My/2011/Star/Stella models.

Converting partial hydraulics to full hydraulics
The cable-actuated semi-hydraulic disc brake kits are particularly impressive. The partial hydraulic master cylinder used by Grimeca has a very defensive design with Ø13mm. Converting to the 8.1 master cylinder significantly improves the hydraulic transmission ratio and the brake becomes much more aggressive with reduced leverage.
