The Malossi gearbox is ideal for exploiting the full performance potential here too. With a larger cylinder, 15-20 km/h and more can be achieved quickly without overstressing the engine with excessive revs. In general, it can be said that with the 15/41 reduction the gearbox is approx. 20% longer than with the standard gearbox (only on the Hexagon EX150 models, which have a slightly longer reduction ratio as standard, is the engine only approx. 13% longer after conversion to the 15/41 gearbox, which is still clearly noticeable and sufficient)
On the SKR125/TPH125 models, this gearbox can also be used on a standard engine. The engine then revs significantly lower on the highway for the same top speed. Acceleration only deteriorates marginally, and this can also be partially compensated for with a sports vario. As a rule, the top speed increases by approx. 5-10 km/h under favorable conditions, even with the standard engine.
MAIN SHAFT:
These transmissions can only be used for engines with a splined main shaft. In this case, the large pinion is pushed onto the gear teeth of the rear wheel axle and secured with a circlip. SUBSIDIARY
SHAFT:
The small secondary shaft connected in front must be pressed over.
To do this, press the original pinion off the original secondary shaft and press it onto the new Malossi secondary shaft. The repressing can still be done with a sufficiently dimensioned vice. However, a stationary press is much more convenient and gentle on the material. Breakaway force between 2 and 3 tons.
Only suitable for the first generation of 125/150cc engines such as those used in the SKR125, SKR150, TPH125, Hexagon EX125, Hexagon EXV150.
Attention: This gear is almost identical to Malossi article M679614. However, the large gear for the main shaft of M678657 is significantly slimmer and therefore only suitable for the older gearboxes of the SKR, TPH125, EX125.
