The Aprilia Mojito 125 Retro (type ZD4RY), available from 2004 to 2007, was a more restrained version within the Mojito family. Model history

As part of the Mojito series, the Retro was introduced as a toned-down stylistic variant. It lacked the flashy chrome parts of the Custom model and instead focused on clean design and subtle elegance. Technically identical to its siblings, the Retro featured distinguishing elements like a simpler handlebar, a more compact headlamp, and reduced decorative trim. It became especially popular in urban areas, where compact size, style and comfort were key.

Powered by a 124 cc air-cooled four-stroke engine producing around 9 hp, the Retro offers reliable everyday performance and low-maintenance operation. The continuously variable transmission (CVT) ensures smooth, gearless acceleration. Its tubular steel frame is paired with a telescopic fork up front and a single rear shock absorber. Handling is predictable and comfortable – ideal for city riding and relaxed short trips. The braking system features a disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the rear. Tyres are sized 120/70-12 at the front and 130/70-10 at the rear. The low seat height of approximately 755 mm makes it accessible to shorter riders.

Colours and equipment

Typical colour options included black, silver and muted reds – deliberately avoiding loud metallic finishes to support the elegant look. Standard features included a comfortable solo seat with passenger provision, grab rails, illuminated dash and a lockable glovebox.
