This BGM ORIGINAL ratchet is the perfect solution for classic Vespa models with 12V AC electrics where the original look needs to be retained. From the outside, the ratchet corresponds to the historical version, including the visible CA6 marking. CA stands for corrente alternata, i.e. alternating current, while the 6 refers to the earlier 6V version. The crucial difference is on the inside: The technology is designed for operation on 12V AC. This makes the snare ideal for vehicles such as Vespa PX up to 1984 without battery or Vespa ET3, as long as the mount, diameter and electrical system fit.
The special feature of this snare is the combination of original front view and adapted electrics. Many original snares are marked CA6 because they were originally designed for 6V AC. This BGM ORIGINAL version deliberately retains this look, while the interior is designed for operation on 12V AC. This means that the front view remains coherent without having to switch to a visually unsuitable modern buzzer for a 12V system.
In everyday Vespa use, the term "horn" is often used. Technically, however, this version is a buzzer.
The snare is designed for Vespa models with a 12V AC snare system. Typical applications are e.g. Vespa PX up to 1984 without battery and Vespa Primavera ET3. The decisive factor here is not only the model, but also the electrical system actually installed: The ratchet requires 12V AC and a suitable mounting or holder with Ø75 mm size.
The visible CA6 labeling is not an indication of the electrical design of this product, but part of the original appearance.
The galvanized surface looks sober and close to the original technical appearance of many classic Vespa components. Especially on PX old, ET3 and other vehicles with a visible ratchet, this design blends inconspicuously into the overall appearance. It is therefore particularly interesting for scooters that have been electrically modernized but should remain as close as possible to their factory condition.

The BGM ORIGINAL snare for Vespa PX and ET3 combines a true-to-original CA6 look with modern 12V AC technology. It is therefore a very harmonious solution for scooters with AC electrics where the visible ratchet should still look like it used to - but must work reliably on a 12 volt system.
