ADVANTAGES:
Compared to a conventional electronic ignition, the BGM ignition base plate has specially combined coil windings. This significantly improves the efficiency of the alternator.

AC/DC?
The alternators are available as AC and DC versions
AC
The AC version is best suited for converting to a good electronic ignition. In this case, the vehicle electrical system is basically retained as designed by Innocenti, albeit preferably with a new wiring harness.
DC
Conversion to DC only makes sense with a sufficiently dimensioned battery (from 5Ah). In this case, the entire luminous flux only feeds the battery via a so-called full-wave regulator. This then supplies all consumers. The required full-wave regulator is included in the corresponding AC set; please order the battery separately. The advantage is the perfect light without flickering, even at idle speed. The disadvantages are the battery required, the high charging losses in the lower speed range (regulator gets very warm) and the necessary modifications to the wiring harness.
TIP: The DC ignition can also be used as an AC ignition at any time. To do this, connect the red/yellow cable to earth. The yellow cable should then be connected to a conventional voltage regulator (e.g. BGM6690) as a current-carrying cable.
FOR WHICH ENGINES?
The ignition kits are available for both crankshaft types of the Lambretta Series 3 models
Note: The BGM ignition has been carefully designed and harmonizes perfectly with all standard ignition components, in particular with the BGM pole wheel.
To ensure that the BGM ignition always has optimum conditions, we include spacer plates for the pickup with version 4.0. This means that the base plate can also be combined with pole wheels whose trigger surface height (tear-off surface of the pick-up) is outside the norm (e.g. AF pole wheels) or if the tolerances of the engine housing and/or crankshaft overlap unfavorably.
