Performance-oriented internal rotor ignition with 55 W light output and analog variable ignition timing for Vespa large-frame engines. The MVT Premium PREM42 combines the advantages of a lightweight internal rotor with an integrated power supply for the vehicle’s lighting.
With its CNC-machined internal rotor weighing only about 250 g, the MVT Premium offers exceptionally direct response and enables rapid changes in engine speed. The variable ignition timing allows for speed-dependent adjustment of the ignition timing.
Unlike pure racing ignition systems without a lighting output, the MVT Premium features an integrated lighting function with 55 W of power. This makes it suitable for applications where, in addition to a performance-oriented ignition system, power for the vehicle’s lighting is required.
A key advantage of the MVT Premium is its lightweight inner rotor. Compared to heavy conventional flywheels, the lower rotating mass reduces the engine’s inertia. This allows the engine to rev up faster and respond more immediately to throttle inputs.
The additional inertia counterweight allows for adjustment of the flywheel mass. This enables the system to be configured according to the desired engine characteristics.
The MVT Premium uses an analog variable ignition timing system. The ignition timing is adjusted based on engine speed, allowing the ignition to be tailored to different operating conditions.
For more advanced tuning, the system can be optionally upgraded with an MVT EPROM multi-curve digital computer. This allows for the use of different ignition timing curves tailored to specific engine designs.
The integrated lighting coil provides 55 W of power. This allows the ignition system to power the vehicle’s lighting in addition to its primary ignition function.
Important: When retrofitting, the electrical power consumption of the connected loads must be taken into account. The 55 W lighting output must be considered when planning the vehicle’s electrical system.

Install the ignition system according to the included MVT installation instructions. The ignition timing must be adjusted to match the engine setup and set according to the manufacturer’s specifications.
When retrofitting, special attention must be paid to the wiring and the power supply to the electrical components.
