Concept

This VAPE ROAD ignition system is consistently designed for the Vespa T5 platform. It fits exclusively on Vespa T5 (VNX5T) and Motovespa T5 Sport and is also compatible with the large-volume Pinasco 251/260 engines, which use the T5 ignition layout due to their design (large transfer ports / separate ignition carrier). The system is not suitable for PX/large-frame models outside the T5 family.

Characteristics

Stable ignition current and strong light output: 9-coil stator and 12-magnet pole wheel deliver up to 110 W at speed. The precise road set-up with static ignition timing ensures clean throttle response, reliable starting behaviour and robust running characteristics across the entire speed range - ideal from sporty road use to powerful T5 tuning concepts (incl. Pinasco 251/260).

Installation & wiring system

Plug-and-play on T5 mount. AC ex works, can be converted to DC by replacing the regulator (ungrounded stator). Please install stress-free, make ground points metallically bright and retighten screw connections after 50-100 km.

Wiring harness & ground

T5 models have an electronic wiring system ex works; conversion is usually plug-and-play. When converting to DC, cable cross-sections, earth points and battery routing must be adapted. As a general rule: perfect earth connections are essential for trouble-free operation.

No. This VAPE ROAD version is designed exclusively for the T5 geometry (Vespa T5 VNX5T, Motovespa T5 Sport) and Pinasco 251/260 with T5 layout.
AC is simple and robust. DC supplies consumers from the battery even without the engine running (e.g. powerful LED headlights, USB). The conversion is carried out using a suitable DC regulator (stator is ground-free).
The basic setting is possible via the markings (static ignition timing). It is advisable to check by strobe - especially with tuning motors (251/260).

Note: Correct earth points (bare/corrosion-free) are essential for permanent, trouble-free operation.
